Color is Overrated

The Illustration Friday word(s) of the week are Black & White.

The above is a panel from an issue of my web-comic, Webby, that I dedicated to this topic. So click here and go to #10. Sorry, I don't know how to link to an exact frame. Actually, I do know, but I'm too lazy to do that whole javascript thing. So just double-click! Just click on the link, and click on #10. What the hell- read the whole damn thing! Like you have anything better to do!

hahahhaahahaha THIS IS GREAT TONY! Excellent, well done - really love your changes through both image and type, and it means something! Love the 'spark' at the end:)

Glad to see Webby's back! Woohoo!

Makes me want to listen to "Shades of Grey" by Billy Joel... I've had that song in my head all week b/c of I-Fri.

Did you do ALL that drawing (I know, not the text) on your Palm? Very impressive.

hope to see you this weekend!

love, me

yep! Like I said, MoePaint. The best part about it is that it's free. The only complaint is that the layered pics take up a bit of memory (a few megs a picture)

Augh... I don't want to choose! I can't hear you LALALALALALALA!

What a crazy mess we're in. :c (

Time to do what James T. Kirk would do. Create a third option because there is no such thing as a no-win situation.

Too bad Capt. Kirk isn't around to help us...
Groovy stuff dude !

Incredible posting for Black and White and thought provoking. Way to go Tony.

It just occurred to me that I all the "left wing" choices in the the comic are on the right, and the "right wing" choices are on the left! I didn't think that out- I just planned it so that we were left with the nice lakeside scene at the end (for water!)

Tony, nice spin on the binary black and white way of seeing things! I haven't read the comic yet as I wanted to comment on this in isolation first. I really like the propaganda aspect of these two pictures - they're designed to elicit particular feelings. It'd be interesting to see a middle (grey) panel, even though I know where I stand in this debate :).

Sadly, I don't think there is a "grey" panel on this or other major issues. I think it's more like when you're walking down the street after a thunderstorm & you see a puddle with oil swirling in it. These issues are fractal swirls of purple, white, blue, green, etc. It can just drive you up a tree, if you let it.

Yes, and I know where I stand on this too. Excellent illustration as always Tony! You always find a way to inspire further introspection through your art it seems.
