I'm Sorry... So Sorry...

At some point when you grow up, you realize that being sorry all the time is not a virtue.

I had a friend in high school- Mora Glynn- who used to say that instead of telling someone that you're sorry, you should ask for their forgiveness.

Someone should apologize for filling up the airwaves with nothing but "Law & Order" & "CSI."

I suppose somewhere there's a Tony's Girlfriends' Survivors' group, to which I would say that I'm sorry I dumped all my problems on them and expected them to make things better.

I'm sorry that this is so disjointed, but I'm high on cough syrup right now.

I suppose I could spend a year or two apologizing to myself for all the things I haven't done right.

I wish George Lucas would say he's sorry for Jar-Jar Binks.

Most of all, I'm sorry for all the times I didn't IF link to static pages ;)

-Tony

Very clever take on this theme. You must come and see my 'hangman'.

Tony, dude, you crack me up ! Don't forget about the sci-fi channel with it's endless episodes of Stargate SG1/Stargate Atlantis series and never ending steams of giant animal/reptile/fish movies that aren't as entertaining as the oldie but goodie sci fi/fantasy movies of years gone by (like Predator and DragonSlayer and Forbidden Planet).

But, I digress. Btw, this is the second hangman I've seen today on Illo Friday. Must be another recurring episode on CSI which is influencing artists...

Thank you all for your kind comments. Michael- I drew this at 3am about two nights ago when I couldn't sleep. I wondered at the time how soon I could stick it into IF, and then this week's topic just popped up. Syncronicity.

Tony - am I allowed to say I love you (blog love, that is)? You just always crack me up big time with your unique take on just about everything. This one struck me especially funny as a case of too little too late. Also...sometimes "sorry" just doesn't cut it, especially when it's coming from a serial penitent...you know those folks who think saying sorry wipes the slate clean and allows them to do wrong all over again. Anyway, I'm glad you've rehabilitated yourself after the big slap on the wrist for not linking to a static page. There's hope for, lad:>

Like I meant to say..."There's hope for you, lad." Yep!

tony… you're a trip… SORRY… i hope that doesn't offend… oh sorry for the sorry… erk…

to add to your story… the irish have a great way of saying sorry for almost anything they do… at least that was the case the last time i was in dublin… all you hear when they're not cusiin is "sorry"… ah well, if they can't speak very well, that can be forgiven… they sure do have a way with words…

Hang it!

I've felt for a long time that its criminal to make a child lie by saying its sorry when it clearly isn't... learning to have a conscience shouldn't be the same as only feeling resentful about being made to say sorry!

yer funny! the hangman reminds m of when I was a kid and we would play this when we were bored out of our gourds in the car on a roadtrip! You and Teri C are on the same page!

Did they ask for your I.D. when you bought the cough syrup? Must be the sniffling, sneezing, aching, coughing, what the hell am I doing on the kitchen floor? brand..good stuff..great take on the sorry theme and Jar-Jar really did suck.

By far the most original interpretation of the theme.

Congratulations!

By the way, what made that lady cry was probably a bad, very naugthy man!

All of those other things can be wiped from the slate...but not static linking for IF??? Mercy! What are we to do with you?
Love the original take on sorry, by the way.

This isn't part of a 12-step program is it? Seriously, great post... really like the sketch... and that little chair that's laying on its side.

I think someone (probably the TV viewing audience as a whole, for supporting it) should apologize for the glut of reality shows on the tube. I'll take 'Law and Order' (the original only) over ANY reality show ANY day of the week, and four times on Sunday.

ROFL! You are so funny!!! I love the concept of your illustration...and your post is very thought-provoking Hehehe.! Now I'm going to ponder about those static pages myself! Thanks for the smile...and, hope you feel better soon!

Very smart man you are. Someone needs to apologize for putting Tom cruise in movies as well. There-that's my rant for the day. Ahh-I feel much better now. Cheers Tony!

Nice, Tony. I like the 'disjointedness' of the post...kinda like the herky-jerky action at the end of a rope.

Your illustrion - tops. I like the upset chair. And, I agree with you about sorry this and sorry that all the damn time being less than virtuous. I believe that would be simpering.

And speaking of dickens...Bjork's Sugarcube song Deuce is one I now understand better. Goshgollygee but she has an even better grasp on the english language and its euphemisms than I do!

Ah, hangman! This is hilarious!

funny stuff tony....we should also be sorry for the Smurfs, Barney, Teletubbies, and bad children's programming in general!

I like Law and Order! But I agree with you about most of the other stuff. Hope that cough syrup does the trick.
