Let There Be Peas on Earth & Let It Begin With Me

Probably the only way I'll find peace in this lifetime.

Once again, Illustration Friday has wussed out & tried to be as PC as possible at Christmastime (at least it's not as blatant as last years "Holiday.")

So have a Merry Christmas, a Happy Hanuka, a Krazy Kwanza, a Super Solstice, & a Festivus for the Restofus. (Sadly, there's no Flying Spaghetti Monster holiday for this time of year.)

There's been times I wished I was safely tucked away in a catatonic state so yeah, I get that. *G*

I also like the pea. As for no Spaghetti Monster holiday for this time of year, why not create one? Celebrations of dates is a human thing, anyway. Make your own holiday, such as Spaghetti Monster's Winter Appeasement, or somesuch.

Merry spaghetti monster from me as well!

Merry, merry all sorts of monsters Tony! Not going to wish you peace because you won't be able to reach your keyboard ;) Ho, ho, ho!

I like your Pea Prince. Can he fly?
I don't think you'll get peace in the long armed jacket. They have all of these theories now involving large amounts of drugs and making you sit amongst lots of other people where you are expected to share your angst and they share their angst and they spend a lot of time keeping you busy doing things.

Yes, these holiday themed topics suck. Either tons of people enter cheesey words, or Penelope's "random" selection isnt as random as she claims (elizabeth getting pick of the week is because she is totally awesome, not just dumb luck!).

Oh, and your second piece is especially funny to me, because my first illustration friday entry ever, here, you were the first person to comment, and you wrote, "No sacrifice is too high for "peas on Earth." I have a lot of pea themed work.

Hah! Imagine Whirrled Peas:> Yeah...it's a PC world, Tony. Instead on doing "Secret Santa" with my high school students (who are still little kids at heart and really wanted to exchange secret gifts), we did a fun tongue-in-cheek "Secret Secular Gift-Giver/Festivus Fairy" aka SSGGFF.

Merry Christmas!!!

Funny Tony.

You and my husband obviously have a similar sense of humour - he's so pleased with the Christmas greeting he did on his band's blog:

http://macaronipenguins.blogspot.com/

I sent someone a Flying Spaghetti monster card instead of Christmas one... complete with mountains and dwarf...

Haha I was counting on your irreverance to perk up IF Tony! You are hilarious and I hope you continue to poke fun at all topics for years to come!!! Happy Holidays to you and yours!

Tony, a (belated) Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to your family!

Your spin on this made me LOL! Yes, peas indeed. The most peas we have at our house is from my daughter spilling them all over the floor near the computer (she eats the frozen peas from a bowl).

This IF topic is better than "Thanksgiving" - which was essentially meaningless for the rest of us not in the U.S.

Love the peas/peace! Ah, Festivus. The airing of grievances and feats of strengths. Must go buy my Festivus pole.

the most princely pea I ever did see...so green, so ...pea like! And yes, Redwing boots will pass muster as long as they make you feel just a little like Dorothy!
Thanks for your comment especially 'cause now I've found your site...
