"But you kept it going, till the sun fell down/ You kept it... going..."

Illustration Friday: Cars

When I was young, and my heart was an open book, my friends and I used to draw tank-cars. This one looks like it would be fun to drive.

Joe & I saw Shrek the Third yesterday. It wasn't as good as 1 & 2, but it wasn't nearly as bad as reviewers were making it out to be. The only part that really had me screwing up my eyes and saying "whaaafuk?" was the funeral scene, with the frogs lip-syncing "Live & Let Die." A private note to Eric Idle: It's considered a homage if it's only relevant knowing what the source material is. I've always worshiped you & your fellow Pythons, (to put it mildly,) but there's no way three seconds of coconut-clapping could be considered a rip-off rather than an homage. Just take the nod as the sign of respect it was meant to be, smile, & say, "Thank you." If the filmmakers didn't tell you or John Cleese before the premiere, I'm sure it's because they thought you'd be pleasantly surprised, not choked up with rage.

I've been in a bit of a fog the last few weeks (months, years...) I've got to find some way of shocking myself out of it. Any suggestions?

Nice drawing! It WOULD be fun to drive!!!

oh no. you've been in a fog? Me thinks I have been in one, too. A creative fog. I turn the headlights on.. but I can only see 10 feet ahead. But if we keep moving 10 feet ahead, it'll take us anywhere we want to go!

I find a cold shower and brisk brushing is good for clearing fogs!

Word veri is etoid... maybe its way of saying "far out"!

I like just trying something new...sort of shaking myself up... to get me out of the fogzone... or at least into a new one ! :) (one of the reasons Im a part of IF...)

experimental cars are fun..Id be afraid to drive this one... Im a button pusher.. and I think Id cause some damage in this particular drivers seat.. ( warily, eyeing the canon attached to the rooftop!)

I wonder how that new transformer movie they are making is gonna turn out... ?

We're often in fog because we stay in our confort zone. Try and get out of it by doing something that'll challenge yourself. Always helps ;)

Nice car... Looks like a fun one!

I remember the creations kids used to put down on paper before transformers hit the scene. Now I've got to news-google Eric Idle to see what the tiff was about...

Janice & Twisselman-

I saw the new Transformers preview with Shrek 3, and it dawned on me what the main problem with the movie is going to be- it's obviously a "people" movie where the Cybertronians (is that a word?) are merely the backdrop. (As opposed to the TV show and the 1986 movie that have one or two people in it) That's what happens when Spielberg & Michael Bay get involved- everything has to be mainstreamed. Sigh.

Go bungee jumping.

And thanks for that Cars earworm! *G*

Hi Tony! I think, it would be just a car, my sons would like to drive - and one, I wouldn't dare to be a passenger in!

My nephew just joined the Marines, he wants to drive stuff like that in real time, his mother's heart is breaking just at the thought of it. You might be in a fog because your heart is no longer open, open it up, even if it means getting it broken, life is messy, feel it... live it, that's what George would say anyway;)

cure for fog = drop acid and go hiking/bushwalking.

Hiya. It would definitely be more fair if either everyone had TANK cars or everyone had itsy bitsy Smart cars. The melange is a mess. When I'm in a fog I usually slow to a stop. And wait till the fog lifts. Sometimes deep breathing makes me feel better during the waiting period.
PS: Do you read Lee Child?

Hi Tony! your illo has great movement and it makes you want to be in the picture! I would be happy to try out my electro-shock mind therapy on you if you'd like to give it a whirl? Just kidding, but it sounds intriguing right?

I think I have that title album. Takes me back to the early days when Mtv actually showed videos all day long (we didn't have cable then, so had to settle for Friday Night Videos on NBC). The Cars had some pretty cool videos then.
Fun illo.

I agree with Janice. Go do something totally new, or try something totally different. Rip yourself out of your rut for a little while.
Or...it might be allergies. Scott has been wandering around in a bleary, sneezy fog for days now.
In high school, this boy named Dean used to draw cars and tanks and things that were just like your picture. I loved watching him draw. Unfortunately he turned out to be a total creep. For future reference for everyone out there, graveyards, right after a funeral, are not good places to make a move on a girl for the first time. And, threatening to toss her into an open grave is not going to get you a second chance.
I like your drawing very much. And umm...just in case, I don't think you are a creep in any way. Sometimes things I write come across wrong.

Rayne- I DID have a midnight graveyard rendezvous with a girlfriend (about a mile walk in between both our houses) after sneaking out when I was in High School, but I assure you I didn't threaten her with anything, much less an open grave. (I probably would have gotten a black eye!)

Reminds me of Mad Max.
It's probably smog not fog, get out of the city...remember...
the hills are alive with the sound of music...la,la,lalala

Have you tried sticking a finger in a powerpoint? That's what babies do and it seems to work!
