To be honest, I've seen maybe one post suggesting that the new Superman movie is too "woke" (a term that has lost all objective meaning and is used by both sides to shut down any discussion) but about fifty signaling that anyone who says so is a worthless piece of garbage.
Yes, the current regime and it's media ilk are festering sores on the rectum of humanity. But seeing as this all started when the director made a preemptive strike against naysayers (ala Ghostbusters 2014 & The Last Jedi), it just feels manipulative, and in the end, doesn't help.

And now, the other side of the W-Word in Superhero Movies argument:
As a long time Lobo fan, I'm excited that Jason Momoa is finally going to play The Main Man on the big screen. However, since it's going to be in a Supergirl film, I will be extremely (but pleasantly) surprised if the ultra-violent, boozing, womanizing bounty hunter will not just be a straw-man of "toxic masculinity" for her to put in his place (to thunderous applause.)
We shall see.
